Rabbit intestinal permeability assay   

 


This assay uses excised tissue from rabbit intestinal segments including duodenum, jejunum, ileum, and colon. A list of compounds used in these assays can be found here.

 

Method

A to B and B to A/ pH 7.4 both sides/ 100 uM cold & 0.2-1.0 uCi/mL donor

Intestinal Segments: Duodenum, jejunum, ileum, and descending colon

Plots that examine compound diversity by comparing the caco-2 assay results at 2 pH values 6.5 and 7.4 with rabbit intestinal segment permeability performed using the Ussing protocol can be found here
